With that mentality, I started my chimney company and the word is spreading. My family owns a small, but excellent landscape company on the west coast and they have never advertised, all word of mouth. 15 years later, they are still going strong and still growing. Certified Chimtechs is the only company with these old school values. We have installed satellite dishes, torn down old antennas and after every job we spray down decks and driveways all for free. I tell my men that we are like the handyman on the block, willing to help everyone. Who do you want at your home? Us or someone you can't communicate with?

The Sweep

The Chimney sweep is a unique individual. They are salesman, they are workers, and roof walkers that have nerves of steel.  They are knowlegable, trained professionals. The CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep is the cream of the crop. The most highly trained men you can put on your roof. We may all be in competition for your business but we are all part of a brotherhood in a very unique line of work. Not many people on earth will carry a 100 pound, 30 foot liner up a ladder, stand ontop of your chimney and shove it down twisting and turning 30 feet. We are chimney sweeps, and so much more....

There is always someone willing to do a job cheaper. There are hacks all over the place, untrained, no insurance and when you find problems with their work, you can't get ahold of them. They don't know the codes, and could care less about anything but that check in your hand. I have many calls every year from customers who took the cheaper bid from a company,  and after $5000 worth of work they light a fire and their house fills with smoke. Of course the company went out of business just to reopen with another name. Please do your homework and check with the Chimney Safety Institute of America before you hire a company.
